Rooftop Alum Jan Weber whose short film As We Sow was screened as part of the Rural Route festival back in 2004 is planning an epic cross-country journey to gather footage which will ultimately form the foundations of the full length documentary Farmlandia. But she needs your help to get on the road, so pledge now and support this important project.
Farmlandia: Growing a Documentary has been almost a decade in the making; ever since Jan began documenting the ongoing difficulties afflicting rural farmers in central Iowa, her work and research has become a part of an important dialogue centered around increasing concerns about where our food comes from and how it’s produced. With the realization of Farmlandia Jan is hoping to be able to add to this ongoing debate. Through traveling from East New York to West Texas, visiting farms of all sizes with diverse views on farming and speaking with farmers about their experiences while ultimately questioning what agriculture is in our country today.
