Give “Kick Me” A Kickstart

Less than two weeks remain to Kickstart Kick Me, the first feature from Rooftop Alum Gary Huggins (You’re Next, V/H/S).

Named one of the 25 New Faces of Independent Filmmaking by Filmmaker Magazine, Huggins has recently released a delightfully mysterious teaser for Kick Me which will star real life Karate expert and Kansas City Cop, Santiago Vasquez.  As the lead in Huggins’ short First Date, screened at Sundance, SXSW, and other festivals, Vasquez played a convincing ex-con.  Now, we eagerly await Vasquez’ next role as a Kansas guidance counselor.

Huggins describes the film as “a nightmare action comedy about the violent indignities that befall a mild-mannered high school guidance counselor who reaches out to a troubled kid – and ends up running for his life.”

“Kick Me” needs to raise $70,000 in order to complete the project, scheduled to shoot this summer, and that’s where you come in.  Donations to the Kickstarter campaign will allow this crew to make a hilarious idea into an equally hilarious reality.

And did we mention you can become a member of the Santiago Vasquez Junior Crime Stoppers?
