Detropia Opens Friday, September 7 at IFC Center

From the directors of Jesus Camp and 12th and Delaware, comes the latest from the dynamic duo Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady, a ” haunting piece of documentary cinema [that] tells the story of one city in economic decay. ” (INDIEwire)

Detropia does not shy away from the issues facing the Motor City. Giving a birds-eye view of a city in decay, Detropia is in your face and not preachy about it. The film played to a sold-out crowd this summer and is a favorite here at Rooftop Films and if you missed the screening on August 11, you have another chance to watch the film on Friday, September 7 when it opens at IFC Center for a week-long run. Ewing and Grady relied on the support of fans of the film to self-distribute Detropia through a Kickstarter campaign so this is a big deal for them to be at IFC Center.

Tickets are now on sale and you can get them here. And as an added bonus, both the filmmakers will be in attendance at some screenings on the following days:

Friday, September 7 at 8:10pm and 10:05pm
Saturday September 8 at 6:10pm, 8:10pm, and 10:05pm
Sunday September 9 at  at 6:10pm and 8:10pm
