Ep 153: Eliza Hittman, Gina Piersanti & Giovanna Salimeni • Rachel Grady •/ Jim McBride

[powerpress]

In this episode of Filmwax Radio, I’m joined by the director of the festival indie hit, It Felt Like Love, Eliza Hittman. Eliza is joined by two of her young leading ladies, Gina Piersanti and Giovanna Salimeni.

In the second segment I speak with half the filmmaking team at Loki Films, Rachel Grady. Last year she and Heidi Ewing released their documentary, Detropia, about the shape of urban America using the city of Detroit as their focus. Detroit filed for bankruptcy last Thursday and Grady helps shed some light on the matter. She also brings us up to date on new projects they’re working on.

Lastly, my interview with Jim McBride, director of many hit films including David Holzman’s Diary, Great Balls of Fire, and The Big Easy. Jim was at True/False Fest for a special screening of the former film, which gave us an opportunity to sit down and catch up.
