Rooftop Films seeks Technicians for Summer!

Rooftop Films is hiring! We are now accepting applications for technicians for the 2014 summer season. Spend your summer creating spectacular outdoor events for up and coming filmmakers and bands and working with a wide variety of audio, visual, and lighting equipment and setups.

Audio/Visual technicians transport, install, operate, and troubleshoot equipment for the Summer Series outdoor screenings from May – August.

Ideal candidates would have familiarity with professional audio/visual technology and equipment, be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and a willingness to play a fluid role as part of a small, tight-knit team – balancing professionalism and a great sense of humor.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Audio/Visual technicians transport, install, operate, and troubleshoot audio, visual, and lighting equipment for Rooftop Films’ Summer Series outdoor screenings. Technicians work shows from start to finish, meeting at our offices in Gowanus, Brooklyn for load-out and transportation of equipment to the site for setup, concluding with load-in at the end of the night.

QUALIFICATIONS:

+ Familiarity with professional audio/visual technology and equipment. This includes digital projection, analog and digital video signal routing, inflatable and folding projection screens, and sound reinforcement.
+ Ability to lift and carry 60 lbs.
+ Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
+ Adaptable to a flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends.
+ Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, and remain flexible under pressure.
+ A valid driver’s license and clean driving record is strongly preferred, as is a willingness to drive cargo vans, 16′, and 21′ box trucks.
+ Extensive experience setting up speaker systems, running FOH/monitor mixes, operating digital mixing consoles or digital projectors, though not necessary, is a strong advantage over other applicants.
+ Willingness to play a fluid role as part of a small, tight-knit team, balancing professionalism and a great sense of humor.

Technicians can expect to work between 25 and 40 hours per week from mid-May through August, and excellent technicians may have the opportunity to work through the winter. Compensation ranges from $15-$20 per hour and is commensurate with experience.
