Conversations with three filmmakers who are part of the filmmaker faculty at the Vermont College of Fine Arts MFA in Film program including department founding chair, Laura Colella (Breakfast With Curtis). Laura is a Rhode Island based filmmaker who teaches screenwriting at Brown as well as being a filmmaker in her own right.

Next, a conversation with the American born but current New Zealander, filmmaker Jake Mahaffy (Wellness). Jake has a new feature, his third, called Free In Deed (produced by podcast friend Mike Ryan) which premiered at the Venice Film Festival where it won best film, and has since screened at SxSW and Nashville. This weekend the film will screen at the Independent Film Festival of Boston on Saturday, 4/30, 7:45 PM at the Somerville Theatre, Screen 1. Then it will screen at the Montclair Film Festival on both Saturday, May 7th, 4:30 PM at the Claridge Cinema 2, then again on Sunday, May 8th, 2:00 PM at the Claridge Cinema 1. Last up is filmmaker Malik Vitthal who has made a powerful dramatic feature called Imperial Dreams. The film had its premiere at Sundance this year and stars John Boyega (Attack the Block, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) as a young man recently released from serving time and who returns to his life in Watts, and tries to rebuild his life as a father and writer. The film has a planned theatrical release in the Fall of 2016.
