We are now accepting submissions for curated programs for Summer Series 2007. If you would like to submit a program of collected films made by multiple filmmakers, please keep reading below. If you would like to submit multiple films by the same single filmmaker, then you should submit the films following the guidelines listed here.

Please include the curators submission form with your submission.

Rooftop Films has grown from a single night of movies to a summer-long festival by working with microcinemas and independent film festivals from around the world. Programmers send us compilations of films we wouldn't otherwise see, and we send out films others might not have seen. In the end, everyone—the filmmakers, the venues and festivals, and the audiences—benefits from the new and ongoing collaborations.

If you or your organization has a program of films which demonstrates the work being done in your community—be it regionally, ethnically, or aesthetically based—send it in. We want to work with other groups interested in showing off their unique cinematic visions.

The deadlines and fees for curated programs for Summer Series 2007 are:
Earlybird: $8.00, postmarked by January 5, 2007
Regular: $12.00, postmarked by February 16, 2007
Late: $15, postmarked by March 2, 2007
All listed fees are PER SUBMITTED PROGRAM. A program can include up to 2 hours of films. Curated programs can only be submitted DIRECTLY to Rooftop Films (you can not submit curated programs via Without A Box) and must include the curators submission form.

All other rules and guidelines for submitting curated programs are the same as for single film submissions which are listed here

Rooftop Films may choose to show an entire program of films, or choose selections from your program and collaborate with you to co-curate a night. We will not show the films you submit without your consent and the consent of the filmmakers. Besides sharing your films and getting them shown at Rooftop shows, one of the added benefits of submitting a curated program to Rooftop Films is that we will give you access to our library of short films and help you to put together new programs of your own. Everything that we at Rooftop do is geared toward bringing the best short films in the world to as wide an audience as possible. We feel that by sharing films with other talented curators we facilitate that process and lighten the burden for everyone interested in expanding the microcinema movement and transforming the landscape of world film culture.

We ask for a recommended minimum submission fee for each curated program. The submission fee for curators is the same as that for individual filmmakers and the same as our admission price for shows and, like our admission price, it is not required for those who are very short of funds. Payments can be made in cash, by check or money order made out to Rooftop Films. We ask that all curators submitting films from outside the U.S. pay by check in U.S. dollars. We cannot accept foreign funds and curated programs CAN NOT be submitted via Without a Box.

If you have any questions regarding submissions, please email Program Director Dan Nuxoll at submit at rooftopfilms.com.
