Music
has always been a big part of the Rooftop Films experience.
Over the years we've had peformaces by local legends
like TV on the Radio, Vic Thrill, The Double, and Parts
and Labor. We've brought you major and indie-label stars
like The Mountain Goats, Califone, Marathon, David Wingo,
and members of Fugazi. And every year we bring back
some of our favorite local bands like The Couriers,
The Meanwhiles, Honeychild, Belacqua and Aarktika, while
also introducing you to new performers such as Frances,
Bradford Reed, the Stefane Wrembel Trio and hundreds
of others.
Rooftop is looking for a new batch of names to add to
that list, so if you are in a band or perform solo,
will be in NYC this summer, and would like to perform
to a big crowd with a beautiful urban backdrop, send
us your music today.
We show a wide variety of films from all over the world
and we always try to match the music with the appropiate
films, so we are interested in musicians working in
any and all genres: rock, blues, country, metal,
R & B, world, folk, electronic, punk, jazz, latin,
hip-hop, experimental— you name it. We program
everything from established major label bands to singer-songwriters
who have never performed anywhere but the NYC subways,
so get in touch with us regardless of your style of
music.
There is nothing like performing your music live on
a rooftop with the sun setting in the distance and your
image projected on a big screen behind you, so send
