Mary Ellen Obias, a freelance development consultant in Chicago, is a former resident of Queens and Brooklyn and a longtime admirer of Rooftop Films. Before her graduate studies in English took her to Chicago, she was a program associate in the arts at the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and a reviews editor for Ten, a literary magazine published by the Asian American Writers' Workshop. Most recently, she worked as the development director for Albany Park Theater Project, a theater ensemble of teenagers in Chicago.
