Inocente is by all definitions a movie about a suffering artist. However, the difficulties faced daily by 15-year-old-artist Inocente are by no means voluntary. In this documentary, Academy-Award nominated filmmakers Sean and Andrea Fine avoid sentimentality and offer an intimate portrayal of the life of an undocumented immigrant forced into homelessness. Facing an abusive father and a mother who is ready to sacrifice the family, Inocente turns to art as a means of escape. In conjunction with this project, Rooftop Films will be screening the film three times in three different locations throughout the city. Free art workshops and exhibitions will also be offered during this series, so hundreds of young people can come out and learn to make art from Inocente herself.
