This episode of Filmwax Radio celebrates the new indie film Loves Her Gun: Austin-based director Geoff Marslett (Mars) and actor Trieste Kelly Dunn (Cold Weather) are the guests. The film follows Allie (Dunn) who, after a violent incident in Brooklyn, hitches a ride with her friend’s band to Austin. But despite the seeds she plants in a her new life down south, Allie must contend with psychological injuries and a new found fascination with the Texan gun culture. The film also stars filmmaker Marslett, Ashley Spillers, Josephine Decker, Francisco Barreiro, and Chris Doubek.
Loves Her Gun will be enjoying a weeklong theatrical engagement in New York City at the Cinema Village beginning Friday, January 10th. Geoff & Trieste will be present for a Q&A following the 7 PM screening. Trieste will be at the theater on Saturday evening as well. The film may also be seen on Vimeo on Demand.
