For NYC Filmmakers! Made in NY Marketing Credit

Part of our mission at Rooftop is to help up and coming filmmakers find the resources they need to get their projects out to the world. Some of these come straight from the top – the Mayor’s Office of Film. Among the great programs that they offer to NYC productions and filmmakers is the Made in NY Marketing Credit. Established in 2005 and expanded in 2012, this initiative is a great opportunity for NYC produced indies and low-budget projects to get their names out to the public without breaking the bank on marketing.

Qualifying projects are eligible for free, co-branded advertising on NYC owned properties such as bus shelters, subway banners, taxis and more thanks to their media partners. To qualify, a film must have been 75% produced in New York City.

The amount of support provided is based on the production budget of the film, head over to their website to see what your project could receive.

In addition to supporting NY filmmakers, the program also supports NYC cultural institutions like us! As a requirement for participating in the program, selected productions must make a donation to a qualified non-profit institution. The contribution amount is determined by the budget of the production – but we know it’ll be less than a marketing campaign!

We’d like to extend a thank you to recent projects that have donated to Rooftop Films as part of this program, and help them spread the word! A huge thanks to:
