Ep 304: Joshua Oppenheimer • Marc Lafia • Heather Kafka & Jonny Mars

[powerpress]

Guests on this episode of the podcast include Joshua Oppenheimer who discusses his latest film, The Look of Silence, his follow up to 2012’s The Act of Killing. The film is more a companion piece to The Act of Killing than a sequel, as it films the family of one of the victims to the late 1960’s genocide in Indonesia. The film opens in NYC on Friday, July 17, in LA the following week and then wide around the country throughout the summer. The film is being distributed by Drafthouse Films.

The Brooklyn-based filmmaker & multi-media artist Marc Lafia returns to the podcast. Marc, one of my first guests, has a new film called 27 and a new book called Everyday Cinema now available where books are sold.

Also, a conversation with my friends, the Austin-based actors Heather Kafka and Jonny Mars. Both are among the hardest working among actors in the indie film world today.
